Mason Greenwood released on bail after private hearing | UK News

Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood has been released on bail following a separate hearing.

The footballer, who has been charged with attempted rape, assault, restraint and rape, was released on bail following a hearing at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester.

All three charges involve the same woman.

The player was first arrested in January on charges involving a young woman after pictures and videos were posted online.

He was released on bail but was arrested on Saturday for allegedly violating the conditions.

The rape is believed to have happened in October 2021.

The controlling and coercive conduct relates to the period from November 2018 to October this year, where he allegedly made threatening and offensive comments towards the complainant, as well as access and follow her social media accounts.

The actual assault charge, sometimes causing bodily harm, is due in December 2021.

The striker, who once played for England, has been suspended by the Old Trafford team from playing or training.

Nike also suspended and subsequently terminated his sponsorship deal, while Electronic Arts confirmed he had been removed from active teams in its Fifa 22 game.
