‘Marvel Snap’, ‘Genshin Impact’, ‘Mini Motorways’, ‘Subway Surfers’ and more – TouchArcade
Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time to take a look at the notable updates of the past seven days once again. Okay, barn doors are officially closed on Halloween updates. We can now move on to the inevitable Thanksgiving updates. But not this week. This week is a flurry of unrelated updates, which equates to the course of a holiday season. Of course, you can keep an eye on updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly recap is just here to fill in the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it!
The Genshin effectFree
The latest major update for The Genshin effect arrived last week and it has all sorts of the usual new features for players to enjoy. There are two new characters, Nahida and Layla, and a new event called the amazing Fungus Frenzy. You can also look forward to new stories, with new Archon Quests and Story Quests waiting for you. A new weapon, of course. It’s called A Thousand Floating Dreams, a rather fancy name for a weapon. And naturally there will be a few new monsters for you to unleash with that weapon or whatever. Have fun hunting!
Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind$9.99
Updates for paid games are often not as hot as updates for other games, and I’m okay with that. But even if they weren’t fancy, I wanted to include them here when they gave me the opportunity to highlight a really good game. Six years old Is one really good game. Play it if you haven’t. This update fixes layout issues on iPad Minis, allows you to see a summary in the Select Game dialog box, and features a number of other tweaks and adjustments to the user interface and text. It also improves VoiceOver support for those using that feature. The notes also mention that the developers are still working on the next chapter, titled Lights Going Out. Awaits it!
MARVEL SNAPFree
I’m still playing the fucking game Marvel Snap. It’s an excellent game, and the fanservice is on point. This update does a lot of things, but I won’t go into its specifics. Suffice it to say that there have been some balance adjustments to some cards (sorry, Jubilee deck) and some visual improvements have been made. There are also the usual performance improvements and bug fixes, which is to be expected in an ongoing game like this.
Subway surfersFree
The Subway surfers is moving again, this time towards Luoyang, China. It’s a lovely lantern-filled locale, the perfect place to meet new Surfer Song Yi and her favorite Night. Lee also received some new items in the form of Wudang Outfits. I’m not sure what Kindness Day is, but the game is celebrating it with a calendar giving Cleo as a reward. Rounding things off is a new Time Card Attack set in Monaco. Much to do as usual.
Disney Heroes: Battle ModeFree
This game is updated at a slower rate than before, but it still gets new characters on a semi-regular basis. This update adds Quasimodo from Disney’s version The Hunchback at Notre Dame, and I bet he’s pretty strong. You know, I really enjoyed that movie. It’s problematic, but I think it’s pretty bold and a good attempt at a compromise between a very dark book and the usual Disney family fare. They tried. And Hell fire Still one of the top villain songs in a Disney animated movie, you can take it to the bank.
Small car road,
We all know Fast and furiousbut have you heard of Endless and Expert? Okay, that didn’t work as well as I expected, but that’s the name of this new update. It adds two new game modes to enjoy. Endless mode is… an endless mode. Expert Mode is… a mode for experts. Glad I can explain that to everyone. There are new achievements to go with those new modes, new zoom features, and some other UI improvements and tweaks. I think I like this update the most, so it’s coveted UMMSotW Prizes for this week.
MARVEL Fight in the futureFree
Yes, another Marvel update. This is the first relationship with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, so I really couldn’t resist. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is back in full force, obviously. There’s been a new Legendary Battle called Wrath of the Sea. M’baku joins the playable roster, and there are new movie-inspired uniforms for Namor, Shuri, and Riri Williams. There are also new Tier 4 for Namor and Tier 3 for Shuri. It will be interesting to see how this movie plays out, given the plot twists surrounding the character. Crossed fingers.
Garden Tails: Match and Grow,
I’m doing that when I consider an Apple Arcade game a must-have Free Matching Update to play on the technical side. This game adds a new garden called Verdant Villa, and in the game called Garden Tails, what do you need to add in the update other than a new garden? You get one hundred and fifteen new levels to play, which is… substantial to say the least. There’s a new Daily Login Rewards feature, a new look to the category, and the ability to toggle hints from the in-game settings menu. Not bad.
Frogger and the Ruins,
Frogger seems to be alive and well in 2022. I’ve probably said something like this before, but it still makes me smile a little every time I realize it. He is one of the earliest icons in gaming even if his star has lost its shine for decades. This update adds new Sky Ruins to the game, a sixth dungeon for our hero frog to overcome. Accompanying it are new outfits, records, and of course treasures. Besides, the game has had some changes and adjustments to reduce the difficulty a bit. Apparently some players had a hard time with it. If that’s you, try it now.
Apes: Beyond the Trees,
And we’re closing today with the latest update for Apes: Beyond the Trees. There’s a new encyclopedia filled with interesting information, but you’ll have to fill it out yourself. Collect the picks in Liberation mode to do it. This update also features a new story moment after the hunt, and there are new levels in both Liberation and Daily Run modes to enjoy. There is a new achievement related to the encyclopedia, along with a host of other minor corrections and adjustments.
That ends for last week’s important updates. However, I’m sure I’ve left out some, so feel free to comment below and let everyone know if you think something should be mentioned. As usual, major updates will likely receive their own news stories throughout this week, and I’ll be back next Monday to recap and fill in the blanks. Have a great week!
