Marvel Marvel announced that the game is working on a solo Iron-Man game in partnership with Electronic Arts’ Motive Studio. Motive Studio is a Canadian video game studio affiliated with Electronic Arts and headquartered in Montreal. The title of the game is still incomplete and Marvel just calls it Iron Man game now
A single player adventure with an original story
The Iron Man game will be a single-player action adventure that can be played in a third-person perspective. It is in early development (pre-production) and will feature “an origin story that taps into Iron Man’s rich history, conveying the complexity, charisma and creative genius of Iron Man. Tony Starkand allows players to feel really playing Iron Man. ”
Olivier Proulx heads the Motive Studio team working on the new Iron Man game as an executive producer and has experience working on Marvel games like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. His team includes industry veterans like Ian Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau and JF Poirier at the Montreal-based studio.
More Marvel characters can be added to the game
Tony Stark (Iron Man) is one of the founding members of the Avengers and one of the leaders on the team along with Steve Rogers (Captain America), Thor and Bruce Banner (The Hulk). He is also a member of the Illuminati, a secret society of very powerful super beings that includes Professor Charles Xavier, Dr. Stephen StrangeKing of the Inhumans ‘Black Bolt’, Reed Richards and Namor the Sub-Mariner.
It is possible that some of these characters will appear in the upcoming Iron Man game, even if it is a single player. Maybe we can even see Peter Parker web-sling his way in the game, as he and Tony bond quite well but the details of the story and in-game characters are non-existent at this time. Heck, we don’t even know the title yet. If this were a stand-alone story, it could be about the Armored Avenger taking on the bad guys on his own.
“It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to make a video game based on one of the most iconic Super Heroes in entertainment today,” Olivier Proulx said in a statement to Marvel. “We had a great opportunity to create a new and unique story that we could call our own. Marvel is encouraging us to create something new. We have a lot of freedom, which is very appealing to the whole team. ”
