Maruti Suzuki recalls over 9,000 Ciaz, Grand Vitara, XL6
Maruti Suzuki has issued a recall program affecting certain models due to a possible defect in one of the sub-parts of the front seat belt shoulder height adjustment assembly. The automaker said in a statement that a total of 9,125 cars are affected by the recall, including models such as the Ciaz, Brezza, Grand Vitara, XL6 and Ertiga. The automaker said these affected vehicles were manufactured between November 2 and 28 of this year.

The automaker claims a possible fault in the affected vehicles could result in the seat belts being removed. However, such an incident can occur in rare cases, the company added. It also does not notify if any such incidents have occurred or not.
The automaker said authorized workshops will notify affected vehicle owners, and they will inspect and replace defective parts free of charge. In its regulatory statement, Maruti Suzuki said the affected vehicles have been recalled for safety and caution reasons for customers. “The company has decided to recall the suspected vehicles for free inspection and replacement of the defective part,” the company said in a statement.
Interestingly, this is not the first recall in 2022 of this car company, because Maruti Suzuki made another recall in October of this year. On the previous occasion, the automaker recalled 9,925 vehicles, including models like wagonR, Celerio and Ignis, due to a faulty rear brake assembly latch. The models affected in the recall program were manufactured between August 3 and September 1 of this year. In addition, in another recall campaign in April this year, the automaker recalled 19,731 Eeco MPVs due to incorrect wheel rim size labeling.
