Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG: price, engine, specifications, trim and features

The Baleno CNG, along with the XL6 CNG, are the first CNG models to be installed at the factory from Maruti’s Nexa line.
Maruti Suzuki launched a device powered by CNG Baleno in India with prices starting from Rs 8.28 lakh, up to Rs 9.21 lakh (old showroom, Delhi). The Maruti Baleno is the first premium hatchback in its segment to be equipped with a factory-made CNG kit. Compared to its petrol counterpart, the Baleno CNG has a premium of Rs 95,000 for each respective version. This, along with XL6 CNGare the first Nexa samples used in CNG processing.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG: engine and fuel economy
The Baleno CNG uses the same K12N, 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine, as the standard Baleno, but in CNG specs it makes 77.5hp and 98.5Nm versus the 90hp. force and the 113Nm of torque it produces in the petrol engine case. The Baleno CNG has a 55 liter CNG tank in the trunk, which means that trunk capacity is significantly reduced compared to its petrol counterpart.
As is the case with most CNG models, the Baleno CNG is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission, not the AMT. Maruti claims the Baleno CNG can achieve a fuel economy of 30.61 km/kg, similar to the recently launched Glanza CNG.
Baleno CNG will also give birth to a Toyota derivation in Glanza CNG. The second one, expected to be offered in three versions, will also be announced soon.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG: decoration and features
Maruti is offering the Baleno factory-installed CNG kit only on the mid-range Delta and Zeta versions. In contrast, Toyota is expected to offer the Glanza CNG in three versions, including a top-of-the-line V version. Therefore, the Glanza CNG will likely be equipped with more features than the Baleno CNG.
However, the Baleno CNG in its Zeta version is quite well equipped with features such as LED projector headlights, 16-inch alloys, 7.0-inch infotainment system with SmartPlay Pro + system, assistant voice, connected car technology with OTA updates, start/stop button, 6 airbags and a rear view camera.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG: rival
Baleno CNG will see direct competition from the upcoming Toyota Glanza CNG. Baleno also competes with Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazzbut none are supplied with a custom fitted CNG kit.
Also in the pipeline is a CNG version of the compact SUV Brezza It is also expected to be the first CNG model to be offered with an automatic transmission.
