Maruti Suzuki transported more than 3.2 lakh units of vehicles using the Indian Railways mode in the calendar year 2022, marking the highest ever shipment using the railway mode in any which calendar year. This helped the company offset about 1,800 tons of CO2 emissions and saved more than 50 million liters of fuel during the year, thereby contributing to reducing carbon emissions.
Using rail has also saved the company more than 45,000 truck trips throughout the year.
