Dadditude, or the art of maximizing comfort and minimizing effort, is a concept Hollister is promoting in “Respect jeans“campaign. Production featuring the ABC sitcom “Black-ish” star (and absolute mistress) Marsai Martin with her father and the first anniversary of them modeling together. “This is the first time my dad and I actually got together in front of the camera because we’re both producers,” Martin told POPSUGAR via Zoom. “I tend to be tight-lipped about my family, but it’s great to be creative with him.”
The campaign highlights the launch of a new product line dad inspired jeans, updated wide leg styles deliver comfort and youthful energy. As a defining influence on Martin’s style, it makes a lot of sense for Joshua Martin to be part of the project. Martin confesses: “My dad is often with me during fitting sessions and he always gives me input on my outfit choices. And this is not recent. As an adult, Martin could always count on her father for her candid feedback on her looks, often given with cheerful humour. “He would look at an outfit and say, ‘Girl, you know these shoes don’t fit. “It used to annoy me, but to this day, I ask him for advice on some clothes.”
Jeans beyond time wardrobe staples that Martin swore. She likes to wear them with slits, crates, or high waists, and she’s constantly looking for ways to style them. When asked about her favorite pair from the collection, she didn’t hesitate: Super high-rise patchwork jeans very versatile, just as she likes them. Plus, they’re comfortable, something she doesn’t negotiate. As she adds, “If I’m uncomfortable, I won’t wear it.”
Hollister’s design team keeps that in mind. The styles feel modern, wearable and versatile. And after watching the father-daughter duo wear them so beautifully, we definitely need a briefcase of our own (starting with patchwork dad jeans).
