Mario & Luigi: Brothership appears to be another ‘Unreal Engine’ effort
Mario & Luigi: Brotherly love launch on Nintendo Switch is just a few weeks away November 7, 2024. However, it appears that retail copies of the game have already been shipped, with many people on social media posting images of the box and cartridges.
As such, we now have a pretty solid indication that this is another Unreal Engine effort from the development team thanks to a post from Nintendodeal. This follows previous Unreal titles such as Princess Peach: It’s showtime!, Pikmin 4And Yoshi’s Crafted World.
Now, it’s worth noting that this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Nintendo, nor do we know anything about the actual development team behind the new game. AlphaDream, the team behind the entire franchise up to this point, went bankrupt after launch Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey. on 3DS.
With retail copies now hitting the market, we should also note that spoilers for the game may start to appear on older networks, so be careful if you’re looking for understand this problem as blindly as possible. This release marks the first home console entry for the Mario & Luigi franchise, with the remainder launching on the GBA, DS and 3DS.
