Mario Kart Toys Zoom In on McDonald’s Australia Happy Meals This Week
As of today (September 5), McDonald’s customers in Australia can receive a cute Mario Kart toy with every Happy Meal thanks to the latest collaboration with Nintendo (thanks, Vooks).
Unlike the cardboard collaborations we’ve seen in the past (like last year’s European Mario Movie Collection), this Australian line features ten plastic go-karts with some familiar faces behind the wheel. Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Toad, Toadette, Bowser, Peach, and Yoshi are joined this time around by a deluxe Gold Mario and Rose Gold Peach — though they’re all kart-only, so don’t expect any bikes like we saw in North America a while back.
Oh, and Happy Meal also includes Mario-themed stickers. Stickers!
The @mcdonaldsau The Instagram account was there to show off the product in full action, even demonstrating how the Happy Meal box can be used as a mini garage. OH.
As usual, it seems like the rollout of these toys is a bit slow, so you may have to visit a few ‘maccas’ branches before you find a store that stocks Mario Kart toys.
Whether these products will ever make it out of Australia remains to be seen, but after all, they are just Happy Meal toys so we can’t expect the highest quality products.
Those who have found some Mario Kart related products (and have some money to spend) might want to check out this somewhat creepy game. LEGO Mario Kart Set Instead, it is expected to launch next year.
