It’s correct, Mariah Carey just put on a cape while sitting in the pool, and no, we’re not kidding! To celebrate her hit album “Mimi’s Liberation” – released back in 2005 – and the success of the remix for “Big Energy” with Latto and DJ Khaled, Carey decided to host an Instagram Live. The singer enjoyed these achievements (literally) as she casually posed on the stairs of a pool, donning a striking Tom Ford design covered in sequins. More than wear a swimsuitCarey decided to wear an elegant long dress, because why not? We expected nothing more than full charm from the singer, and she certainly delivered. Carey then posted her full video with the caption, “IG Live!!!! Celebrating Mimi’s Liberation and Big Energy Harmony with Lambs!!! 🐑🐑🐑❤️❤️❤️” (The the lamb is what Carey calls her superman, in case you didn’t know.) And with that, the icon has established new rules about pool dressing.
The 53-year-old star’s dress featured sequins in deep burgundy and rose gold throughout, a ruched neckline and mermaid-like hemline. She completed her outfit with a pair of dangling gold earrings and of course a series of diamond-encrusted bracelets on each hand. Carey wears her hair straight in the middle and even wears makeup at the pool. During the live stream, her daughter, Monroewhom she had with ex-husband Nick Cannon, appeared in pajamas, a piece of clothing lower than her mother’s.
