A man’s body was reportedly found inside a freezer at a Food Lion store in North Carolina.

According to CBS 17The Raleigh Police Department reported the discovery of the man’s body on Tuesday, September 10. Authorities were reportedly called to the location on Capital Avenue “where officers found their co-worker.”

According to CBS 17Police believe the man suffered a medical emergency on the evening of Monday, September 9. He is believed to have died inside the freezer. The man has not yet been publicly identified.

Meanwhile, a company spokesperson is said to have shared a statement about the tragic incident with Fox News.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of our associate. Food Lion is cooperating with local authorities as they investigate this unfortunate incident,” declare as follows. “As always, the safety and well-being of our customers and associates is a daily priority for Food Lion, and we are committed to ensuring a safe workplace and shopping environment. We are providing resources to support our associates during this difficult time.”

Unfortunately, the unidentified North Carolina man was not the only individual found in a facility’s freezer. As Shade room As previously reported, in May 2023, Arby’s employees in Louisiana discovered the body of their deceased co-worker, Nguyet Le.

“A situation like this is unusual, so we are taking extra precautions while we investigate… [We] completed our process at the crime scene. After fully processing the crime scene — it appears that this was not a homicide, but rather an accident,” authorities revealed at the time.

Later that month, authorities revealed that Le had become trapped in the freezer due to a faulty lock. The mother, who reportedly worked at the location with her son, “paniced while locked inside and suffered bleeding hands while trying to escape.”

Furthermore, autopsy results showed that she died of hypothermia.
