Manoj Muntashir on ‘Adipurush’ row: The look of the deities is not completely seen in the teaser, the material used for Hanuman’s costume is canvas – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News

Om Raut’s mythological film ‘Adipurush’ is in the midst of a storm when a section of the audience has offended the depiction of Hindu gods in the teaser released last week. Amid calls for a boycott, the producers received notice and an appeal was also filed seeking a ban on the film’s release. Speaking to ETimes, the film’s narrator Manoj Muntashir defended the film, saying: “The face of the gods has not been fully seen yet. A 95-second trailer is not enough to portray what we are. Hanuman Ji doesn’t wear leather How can someone who is Sanatani, someone who believes in features of Hinduism, be in a movie that makes my Bajrangbali, my Hanuman Ji wear leather? That didn’t happen. The material used for Hanuman Ji’s costume was fabric. The color might look like leather. But it’s definitely not leather.”

Adipurush is not the only film that has hurt religious sentiments in recent times. Ajay Devgn, ‘Thank God’ by Sidharth Malhotra and ‘Kaali’ by Leena Manimekalai are the latest works that have faced the trend of creative freedom. Clarifying their stance that ‘Adipurush’ was created out of respect and reverence for Lord Rama, Muntashir said, “‘Kaali’ is a misrepresentation of our highly revered goddess Kaali. I criticize it. and I’m ashamed to belong in a fraternity where the ‘Kaali’ producers share the space with me. Me or the ‘Adipurush’ producers are definitely not part of that. a firm believer in Lord Shri Ram. We love him, we adore him, we learn from him, and We have the highest respect for him. ‘Kaali’ is a love I haven’t seen the movie but I’ve seen the poster. It’s definitely designed to hurt feelings. No
bhakti, shraddha, or emotions in it. It’s wasteful and very annoying. And as Hindus or Indians, if we offend that poster then we are doing it right. I also pleaded guilty. But ‘Adipurush’ and ‘Kaali’ (movie) are like north and south poles. They don’t even meet in common. We are making a movie out of respect and reverence for Lord Rama. We are making a movie to portray Lord Rama and his character higher than the mountains and deeper than the ocean. We wanted that character to reach younger audiences, fans of Marvel and DC movies. We want to tell the pious story of Lord Rama in a language that young people can understand. And by language, I mean visual language, the visual representation of that story. ”

Indians have grown up watching Ramanand Sagar’s version of Ramayan which was released over 30 years ago. Muntashir says he has great respect for Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’. “He used really improved visuals and graphics for 1987. They used the graphics that were available to them and we are using the graphics that are available to us. It’s as simple as that. The use of graphics and technology is completely acceptable and this is how the story should be told. We should not fall behind the world,” he added.

Muntashir added that they do not interfere with the plot and each filmmaker will come up with their own creative image. “No damage was done,” he said. “We’re listening. Our director Om Raut has made it clear that we’re open to suggestions from everyone but based on 95 seconds of a movie, a movie can be as long as two an hour and a half or maybe more, can’t be judged by the 95 second trailer. what do you understand from the trailer the demon called Ravana kidnapped Maa Sita and Lord Rama attacked him to free Maa Sita He enlisted the help of Hanuman Ji, Sugreev and Vanarsena. is conveyed in the trailer.. If there is anything wrong in the plot, the Character of the Ramayana then we are to blame. But if all of this is true and appropriate and there are questions about how to do it visual representation then we have to understand that every filmmaker will come up with some creative visualisation, that kind of freedom has to be given to the filmmaker, but in s a while, we have made sure that we do not cross our boundaries. So you won’t see anything completely different from what you had imagined. There is a question as to why Hanuman Ji is not wearing Kundal, so it may not appear in the teaser, if you zoom in you will clearly see that Hanuman Ji is wearing Kundal. Therefore, we have not interfered with the basic story, character or message of the Ramayana at all. We did not deviate an inch from the actual story. We are true to the Ramayana written by Maharishi Valmiki and rewritten by Goswami Tulsidas Ji. ”

Muntashir stresses that the Ramayan is our history and like many other artists have maintained in the recent past, it should not be treated as myth. “The story of Lord Rama is certainly historical. It’s not mythical by any measure or any imagination. And I don’t agree with those who call Ramayan a myth. I have a gay contradiction. It’s something unacceptable. Ramayan, Ramcharitmanas is history. This actually happened 7400 years ago. Greatest scientist of our time, former master. Our President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam proved on a software called Taramandal that Lord Ram clearly existed. And whatever Valmiki Ji wrote in Valmiki Ramayan did indeed happen. proved it on the basis of calculations on a piece of software. So there is no doubt that Lord Ram really exists.Yes, he did.He is the greatest part in history. our history,” he said.
