Manish Sisodia Will Be Arrested Tomorrow, Alleges AAP After CBI Summons

The BJP said there had been “serious irregularities” in the alcohol contracts.

New Delhi:

Delhi Deputy Minister of Investigation Manish Sisodia was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday at 11am for questioning about the controversial case of excise policy in Delhi. In a press conference shortly after the summons, senior Aam Party leader Aadmi Saurabh Bhardwaj announced Mr Sisodia would be arrested tomorrow, adding that the summons was related to the upcoming Gujarat elections, where BJP and AAP are “in direct competition”.

“BJP is scared,” he said.

Responding to the latest summons, Mr. Sisodia said nothing had been found in previous CBI raids, but he would offer full cooperation with the investigative agency.

“CBI raided my house for 14 hours, nothing from it. They searched my bank safe and found nothing. They didn’t find anything in my village.

Now they have called me to CBI Headquarters at 11am tomorrow morning. I will go and give my full cooperation,” he tweeted in Hindi.

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal supported his deputy on Twitter, concurring with freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.

“The iron bars and the hanging noose could not stop Bhagat Singh’s strong determination.

This is the second fight for freedom. Manish and Satyendra (Jain) are today’s Bhagat Singh,” he said.

The CBI late last month arrested AAP communications director and Sisodia’s close aide Vijay Nair in the case.

More recently, Abhishek Boinpally, who is said to be lobbying for several alcohol businesses based in South India, became the second person arrested in the case.

The CBI has questioned a number of people, including Sameer Mahendru, owner of Indo Spirits, Amit Arora, Director of Buddy Retail Private Limited in Gurugram, and India Ahead News CEO Mootha Gautam, in connection with the incident. official said.

The Aam Aadmi Party still insists that there was no scam, and Arvind Kejriwal’s deputy has been dragged into the case for political crimes. In an NDTV town last month, Mr. Kejriwal dared the Center to arrest Mr. Sisodia if there was evidence against him.

“What is a scam? The CBI found nothing in the raids on Manish. Why didn’t they arrest him if there was a scam? Just because the BJP says there is corruption, doesn’t mean there is,” the person said. said the head of the AAP.

The AAP accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led central government – which appoints the Central Governor – of abusing the CBI to stop their “good work”.

The BJP said there had been “serious irregularities” in alcohol contracts, accusing AAP of using “kickbacks” in campaigns in Goa and Punjab.

The CBI named 15 people in its FIR, including Mr Sisodia, who is in charge of Delhi’s Department of Revenue, which administers excise and alcohol collection policies.

It was in July that the Governor of Central Delhi ordered an investigation of the New Special Consumption Policy. That same month, the AAP government withdrew the policy that was in effect last November and brought in private companies into the alcohol trade. The AAP said the policy was intended to increase revenue “but was misled by the BJP’s central government using the Central Governor”.
