The Aam Aadmi Party announced nationwide protests today over the arrest of Delhi Deputy Minister Manish Sisodia in the alcohol policy case in Delhi. Delhi Police have deployed forces at several points in the national capital.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, called the arrest of deputy Manish Sisodia “dirty politics” and warned that “people will respond”.

Aam Party’s National Secretary General Aadmi Sandeep Pathak said that they will demonstrate across the country today.

“The great Education Minister Manish Sisodia, who has shaped the future of tens of thousands of children of the country, has been arrested in a spoof case. To combat this, the Aam Aadmi Party will demonstrate across the land. water tomorrow,” Pathak wrote on Twitter. .

Delhi Chief Minister Gopal Rai said that AAP will hold Black Day today because of Mr. Sisodia’s arrest.

Delhi police have deployed forces in several areas of the national capital, including the CBI headquarters where Mr. Sisodia is being held.

In a statement, police said a large number of workers and Aam Aadmi Party supporters are expected to gather outside the CBI headquarters today.

AAP is also planning to hold a rally outside Bharatiya Janata Party Headquarters at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg in the national capital at around 12 noon today.

Manish Sisodia faces corruption charges for introducing a new policy to sell alcohol in the nation’s capital. The CBI alleges that liquor companies were involved in the formulation of the 2021 policy whereby kickbacks worth Rs 30 crore were paid by an alcohol lobbying group called “South Group”.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Mr Sisodia yesterday after questioning him for eight hours on Sunday in the Delhi alcohol policy case.

Mr. Sisodia spent the night at the headquarters of the Central Bureau of Investigation in Delhi. He will undergo a medical examination this morning before being presented to the CBI court at 2pm.
