The woman ran to a neighbor’s house and was taken to the hospital for treatment for a broken jaw, black eyes, broken nose and internal injuries.

When police asked Brough’s former male escort to recount his movements on the night of the rape, he told them: ‘I have no clue – ask my brain.’

He has a 15-year history of knife violence and was previously acquitted of rape in 2019.

At Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, Brough of Breightmet, near Bolton was jailed for having been jailed for 18 years with a license extension of 4 years.

He will serve two-thirds of his sentence in prison before being considered for release by the parole board.

He was found guilty of intentionally causing bodily harm, two counts of rape, attempted rape and theft.

The attack in Little Hulton, near Salford happened late at night on March 19 last year.

Brough knocked on the front door of the victim claiming to be a neighbor’s friend.

Mr Mark Kellet, who is prosecuting, said: ‘She had gone to bed all night, locked her dogs in their cages and she was wearing a nightie and pajamas.

‘Although she had never met the defendant before, her neighbor’s name matched what he said, she opened the door and he entered the house asking to use the restroom.

‘She went into the room first but the defendant followed and as she sat on the sofa he sat next to her and put his arm around her.

‘He told her he was an escort man and took his penis out, saying, ‘look, this is what I do. ‘

‘She told him she was not interested, but he grabbed her head and pressed it against her.

“In response, she bit the defendant’s penis causing him to hit her in the face.”

Mr Kellet said: ‘She was then dragged into the bedroom and thrown onto the bed.

‘She described trying to fight him and push him away but he continued to punch her and she recalls fainting and turning around.

Mr Kellet said the victim screamed and tried to stop him from raping her, but he punched her, making her pale.

“When she got to the ring, he was gone,” he said. ‘While she was semi-conscious, she could hear him rummaging around, and she also heard one of her dogs squeal, which she attributed to the defendant kicking.

‘The next morning, she discovered that one of the dogs was missing.

‘A neighbor returned the dog to her home but when she answered the door he was shocked to see its condition. “

He called the police after seeing her covered in blood with black eyes and broken jaw.

Mr. Kellet said the victim had been waiting for police to arrive at another neighbour’s home. She later provided an account of being beaten and sexually assaulted.

The victim was taken to the Trauma Assessment Unit at Royal Salford Hospital, where a senior doctor noted extensive bruising and swelling on her head.

She suffered broken bones in her upper and lower jaw, lacerations on her face, and lost her teeth.

She was then taken to a rape crisis center at St Mary’s Hospital, where doctors found a sample of Brough’s DNA.

Tests show that there is a chance that the attacker could be someone else.

When police tracked down Brough, he arrived at a friend’s house with the victim’s two Samsung cell phones and blood stains on his hands. He was later arrested at the Wigan market.

At his rape trial last November, Brough denied wrongdoing, refused legal representation and refused to attend. He didn't say anything to defend himself at the sentencing hearing

In response, Brough said: ‘I didn’t do that – I don’t do things like that. I can’t recall doing anything like that at all. If I did, I would be sitting here with my head in my hands. I can use the lie detector and still get through. ‘
