A Milwaukee, Wisconsina man named William Carson was sentenced to 16 years in prison, and it was all because of his reaction to some neighborhood kids naughty in the snow.
He received 16 years for shooting at a group of children
William was sentenced last Friday, according to News FOX6 Milwaukeeand it’s related to an incident from more than three years ago.
Back on January 4, 2020, a group of about seven kids were throwing snowballs at cars north of Milwaukee. After William’s car was hit by a snowball, the man continued to turn, get out of the car and fire a volley of bullets as the children frantically ran away.
Two of the seven children were hit by bullets, one in the arm and the other in the thigh. In addition, the third child’s coat was grazed by a bullet.
After fleeing the scene, William was arrested a few days later, and he was arrested while driving under the influence. In addition, it was found that he was carrying a gun, and an examination found it was “very likely” that it was the same gun used to shoot the children.
As a result, William Carson was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment of first degree and five counts of reckless endangerment of safety in the first degree.
Prosecutors initially recommended a sentence of 25 years in prison
While William will be away for a while, the prosecution is said to be seeking to secure a 25-year sentence against him.
This sentiment is supported by the testimony of Monique Wilbourn, the mother of one of the children who took part in the challenge.
“You really hurt us, and I really want you to pay for what you did to my family.”
Although the deadline is less than what the prosecution wanted, we should add that William Carson will have to complete ten years of extended supervision after his release.
