Man arrested on suspicion of murder after death of three-week-old baby boy | UK News
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a three-week-old baby boy in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police said officers were called to Dovey Road in Sparkhill just after 3:40 a.m. and found the infant was not breathing.
He was taken to the hospital, but died a short time later.
A 26-year-old woman was injured in a similar incident and was taken to hospital for treatment, the force said.
Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Inspector Neil Kirkpatrick said: “This is a real tragedy and our thoughts go out to all involved.
“We will have more officers in the area in the coming days for reassurance.”
Detectives are not looking for anyone else involved in the investigation.
