Man arrested after two cyclists die in crash in South Yorkshire | UK News
A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after two cyclists were killed in a road collision in South Yorkshire.
Emergency services were at the scene of the crash on Royston Road, Cudworth, Barnsley at 9:07 p.m. Friday following reports of a collision between a car and two bicycles.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the two men were pronounced dead at the scene and police are working to officially identify them.
South Yorkshire Police said the vehicle involved, believed to be a red Volkswagen Golf, did not stop and was later found abandoned in Bleak Avenue, Shafton.
The force said a 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police are also working to track down another man in connection with the incident.
