A 29-year-old man accused of raping a woman and abetting her suicide nine years ago has been arrested by police in the Palghar district of Maharashtra, an official said Sunday.
Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar senior police inspector Pramod Badakh said the defendant, alias Sultan Raja Noormohammad Shaikh, was accused of raping the 19-year-old girl several times in February 2013 after giving her a drink. Drinks laced with sedatives.
