A 36-year-old man has died after collapsing near the end of the London Marathon.
Organizers said he was treated immediately between mile 23 and 24 and an ambulance arrived within three minutes, but he later died in hospital.
The man is from southeastern England and no further details will be released as the family has requested privacy.
The cause of death will be determined later through a medical examination.
Organizers said in a statement: “Everyone involved in organizing the London Marathon would like to extend their sincere condolences to his family and friends.”

Thousands of people lined up for 26.2 miles to cheer on elite athletes and throngs of amateur runners raise funds for charity.
