Can a person be in vogue in roller skates? The answer is “yes” and Madonna figured that out for myself on Wednesday (August 10). To celebrate the release of her huge new hit collection, Madonna, 63, visited DiscOasis at Wollman Rink in New York City’s Central Park for a party. For this night of dancing and skating under the NYC skyline, Madonna wore a pair of bright yellow shorts with a vibrant print on the front. She paired it with a matching yellow and black jacket, lace gloves, and lots of jewelry to look like the sexiest roller skater ever.

During her visit, Madonna donned a pair of skates and made two laps around the colorful rink. After taking off her skates, she joined the music legend Nile Rodgers – DiscOasis sound curator and event organizer – to dance to the music from that evening’s DJ, an equally legendary Questlove. (“S/o out Madge for conquering fear and skating while her whole IG world lives—- I can’t imagine that kind of oversight,” But be careful member posted on his Instagram.) Fans recorded Madonna dancing along Beyoncé“Break My Soul” before joining the Nile to dance under one of the many mirror spheres at DiscOasis.

While anyone visiting NYC can join DiscOasis (until October 1st), Madonna visited glittering heaven to celebrate the release Finally enough love: 50 numbers. A shortened version of 16 songs called Finally love is enough hit streaming services on June 24, but the complete 50-track version will drop on August 19, along with physical formats. The collection features Madonna’s favorite club remixes and some previously unreleased tracks.

The collection was inspired by Madonna performing her 50th Number One song on Billboards Dance Club Songs chart, made by her February 2020 with “I Don’t Search I Find.” She became the first artist to earn at least one Number One song on the Dance Club Songs chart in five separate decades, according to Rolling Stone. She’s also the first artist to hit 50 #1 songs on any single Billboards graph.

So it was fitting for Madonna to host this release party at DiscOasis. First introduced in Los Angeles in 2021, the theatrical and immersive rollerblading experience is coming to New York City in 2022, delivering exciting, interactive installations inspired by the catalog Icon of Nile Rodgers. DiscOasis also includes a dance floor, live roller dance performances, food service, etc. for anyone looking for a wild, unique experience. Local DJs (and sometimes surprisingly popular DJs, like Gottmik and Violet Chachki) shoots special playlists curated by Nile Rodgers, letting you feel the music whether you’re on your feet or in a pair of skates. And you never know – sometimes, an icon like Madonna might drop by.
