drake is the latest wax figure in Madame Tussauds New York New Year’s Eve Concert Collection.
The wax museum announced the addition of Drizzy on July 1. On Instagram, it shared a video provides a comprehensive and intimate look at this Canadian rap artist and also highlights other artists.
“The rapper’s iconic owl pose honors his OVO brand and his unique connection with his fans,” the museum shared in a press release.
Drizzy’s twin brother sported side-braids with a bushy beard, diamonds in both ears and a thick diamond necklace. The outfit reflected the rapper’s latest style, with an old grey T-shirt, khaki tie-dye jeans and ‘shacket’, finished off with a pair of white Air Force 1s.
Drake’s new wax figure is part of the museum’s new Music section, which has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation. The New York location’s marketing manager shared a statement about the “star” feel the exhibit brings.
“Our new music experience is one of those magical spaces in the museum that visitors are immediately drawn to, so we’re confident that the reimagined area, more immersive than ever, will bring a new level of excitement to the experience,” said Eliza Rose. “Plus, with so many A-list musicians around, who wouldn’t feel like a star here?”
The rapper’s statue is joined by wax figures of Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, J Balvin, Elvis, Harry Styles, and Megan Thee Stallion, to name a few. On his website, Madame Tussauds New York Revealed Merlin Magic Making designed the new Music Zone.
Drake is the second of Madame Tussauds’ wax figures
This isn’t the first time the international wax museum has unveiled a Drake wax figure. In February 2023, Drake’s statue was installed at Madame Tussauds London. The museum’s general manager at the time, Tim Waters, shared that Drake’s love for the city inspired the statue.
“Drake has shown his love for London on many occasions, his surprise appearance at Wireless Festival being just one example. With reports that he will soon be calling London home, we wanted to make sure we could give him a warm welcome back to our streets and show that love is reciprocated in the only way we know how by immortalizing him in our iconic attraction,” said Tim Waters, general manager at Madame Tussauds London, in a press release. according to Billboard.
Drake has yet to publicly react to his latest wax figure. The rapper is still holding a cold profile since he had an argument with Kendrick Lamar peaked in April. Both rappers diss profile exchange back and forth for weeks, taking pictures of their family, crew and music.
Ultimately, the standout in terms of replay value turned out to be Lamar’s diss ‘Not Like Us.’ In addition to being the hottest song of the summer, Lamar’s diss references went beyond entertainment, even touch politics.
