Lumencraft has mining, shooting, swarming and hits 1.0 next week

I often think about Infested planet, a nearly 10-year-old top-down tactical shooter about stopping hordes of alien creatures with turrets and careful expansion. I thought about it again while watching the trailer for Lumencraft, which seems to combine all of the above with a world that can be completely destroyed and collects more resources. It will leave early access on February 28.

Here’s the release date trailer:

Lumencraft has been in early access since last April and has received 579 ‘very positive’ reviews and ratings On steam At the time of writing, that’s a good sign. However, there are important new features coming in version 1.0, including story mode and “super progress”. The story mode features 27 missions and a hub where you upgrade your skills and technology to overcome each new challenge.

If you don’t want to wait a week to try out this feature in version 1.0, you can join the beta branch of the early access release to get a handle on it right away. This post explains how.

I love building bases and turrets, mining, and swarms of insects. The only thing about Lumencraft’s trailer and screenshots that I don’t like is its art, which uses high resolution textures and colored lighting and looks like a random collage where every element Elements are equally competing for your attention. Art has no art direction.

It’s not enough to stop me from wanting to crack holes in crystal walls and alien shells in a week’s time, mind you.
