Just like on iPhone, turning on Low Power Mode reduces the amount of power your Apple Watch uses so you can save battery life. This feature was first introduced by Apple this year with watchOS 9.
How to enable Low Power Mode on Apple Watch
Follow these easy steps to enable Low Power mode on your Apple Watch.
Alternatively, you can also enable Low Power Mode in Settings
Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch
Scroll down, then tap Pin.

What features does Low Power mode turn off?
According to Apple, the following features won’t work if you enable Low Power mode:
- Always on display
- Heart rate notification for irregular heart rate, high heart rate and low heart rate
- Background heart rate measurement
- Background blood oxygen measurements
- Start workout reminder
If you don’t have your iPhone nearby, your Wi-Fi and cellular connections will be disabled. Additionally, you won’t receive any incoming calls or other notifications on your Apple Watch.
What other features are affected by Low Power mode?
If you have Low Power mode enabled, calls may take longer. Furthermore, background app refresh occurs less frequently and complications are updated less frequently.
What happens to Exercises in Low Power mode?
According to Apple, when you use the Workout app in Low Power Mode, metrics like heart rate and pace are still measured.
