‘Love Death and Robots’ Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on May 20

The third season of Netflix’s animated anthology Love, Death and Robots will bow on May 20. The streamer teased the release with a short video shows the same adult-oriented themes and various animation styles such as previous episode.

The series is produced by Tim Miller and David Fincher, who have four-year exclusivity agreement with Netflix. In the trailer, Netflix showed short clips about Crown, Queen’s Gambit and other shows as a way to contrast them with the much more intense “problem kids” cartoon show. “Three friends have been waiting,” the tagline says.

The styles run the gamut from hyper-realistic with a Gulliver-like character to 2D cel animation, with everything in between. The series has garnered solid critical reviews for Rotten Tomatoesthough the audience score reduced in episode 2 as it reduces nudity and gore. Episode count also dropped in the second season with eight episodes compared to 18 episodes in episode 1. Netflix doesn’t say how many episodes will come with episode 3, but you’ll only have to wait a day to find out.
