Looks like Dak Prescott will be replacing Cooper Rush next week

Cooper Rush’s fairy tale pauses on Sunday Night, minus the Hollywood epilogue. In this competitive game, the Philadelphia Eagles took care of the Dallas Cowboys, 26-17and showed Rush as the uncared backup quarterback that he always was.

Looks like Rush wifeLauryn, chose the wrong game to attend.

Midnight hits, and Cooper’s ride turns back into a pumpkin right before our eyes, after everyone manages to push him in front of Dak Prescott. As good as Rush has played in his previous four games this season, he was even worse against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday night.

Before facing the Eagles, Rush had not intercepted this year and made only a fifth of his appearances. Philly picked Rush three times in this game and forced the Central Michigan production to throw and read all night. This technique-free freestyler has recorded more incomplete passes than he completed just 47% for the game. It wasn’t Rush’s night, and his defeat couldn’t have come at a better time for Cowboys fans with Prescott in repair. QB argumentative Jerry Jones once said he has been completely thrown out the window by now.

Even Cowboys wide-awarded Dez Bryant can admit Prescott is still the rightful owner of the QB1 spot in Big D. Prescott and Bryant aren’t exactly what you might call friends. close, as they never seem to reach the same front page of Dak’s career. The former number 88 is even widely known Twitter feud with Dak’s brother Tad, that may still be in the background.

The key point here is what Dez pointed out in his Tweet. The Cowboys started the QB job was, is, and will be Prescott’s good work in the future. We couldn’t detract from the stability Rush provided in Prescott’s absence, but there was never a real chance Cooper would still be “the guy” once Dak was healthy enough to return.

Right now, it looks like Prescott’s return could be next week (Week 7) in Dallas with the Detroit Lions. It was a much better match than the one against the Eagles because the number 4 would be rusty. He was turning around after a smashed thumb on his throwing hand. Just because the team doctors say he’s healthy enough to compete (if they clear him) doesn’t mean he’s 100% healthy.

“That was my plan,” Prescott speak after the Cowboys’ 26-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night. “Obviously have to see the docs, but, yeah, that’s kind of my plan.”

The Miami Dolphins’ doctors told Tua Tagovailoa he could stay in the game after suffering a head injury, then would return him to play less than a week later. Of course, Prescott and Tagovailoa’s injuries vary widely, but the reality is that team doctors don’t always act in the best interests of the players.

Dallas’ schedule sets up well for the next few games and should give Dak enough time to get back to work in a good way. After the Lions in Week 7, the Cowboys welcome the Bears to Big D, then hit the road to play the Packers and Vikings. If the start of the season for Green Bay is any indication, it’s going to be a win for Dallas, but then again, we know so-called “guaranteed” wins often come like that. How about this franchise.

However you choose to watch it, Prescott is a man from Dallas and will be for many years to come. Like many people, I’ve never been the biggest believer in Prescott when it comes to leading the Cowboys back to the Super Bowl, but he’s definitely the best pick at QB on Jones’ list.
