Ukraine’s deputy defense minister, Hanna Maliar, said that weapons supplied to Kyiv by the US and other partners have been deployed to the front lines.

“In addition to Javelins and Stingers, American 155 mm cannons were used at the front,” Maliar said at a news conference on Wednesday.

“We are working hard to speed up the aid, because these are the lives of our soldiers.”

A senior US defense official told reporters on Tuesday that 89 of the 90 tanks the US agreed to deliver to Ukraine have been transferred to Ukraine’s possession.

Maliar says that foreign arms deliveries have become routine, despite Russia’s efforts to destroy transport infrastructure.

“We have received a large number of weapons. But now we have entered the phase of supplying weapons to Ukraine,” she added.

She also suggested that the new agreements would help Ukraine maintain a conflict for longer.

“A package of rental agreements is currently under consideration. We get support from the European Union and other countries,” she said.

“That is, we are entering a new phase of the war. Russia is putting itself in a position of not being able to win the ‘war on equipment’.”
“However, until this victory comes, we’re going to have a tough few weeks, and maybe even months,” she said.

Maliar also said that Ukrainian production lines are being stepped up.

“We are making a strategic bet on developing our own production,” she said. Manufacturers received military orders by the end of the year. In addition, the Ministry of Defense purchased protective equipment. from abroad”.

In the first 10 days of May, the Ukrainian armed forces received more than 34,000 pieces of armor, she said.
