Lisa Curry ‘couldn’t even get out of bed sometimes’ after daughter Jaimi’s death
Lisa Curry opened up about her constant struggle to move forward following the tragic death of her daughter Jaimi in 2020.
The Olympic swimmer, 60, revealed this week the pain she feels over Jaimi’s loss is sometimes crippling.
She told the Something to Talk About podcast: ‘Sometimes you can’t even get out of bed. Everything that piled up on me had to bear its consequences. ‘

She said the only crux of the tragedy is that her new book, Lisa: A Memoir – 60 Years of Life, Love and Loss, has helped other bereaved parents.
“I’ve received a lot of great feedback, because of the openness and honesty it has helped a lot of people,” the mother-of-three said.
“The book makes people realize when you’re young, if you don’t deal with them early, they’ll kill you,” she added.

Lisa also said the reason she never won an Olympic medal was because she gave birth to three children around that time, so motherhood became a priority for her.
‘If I had stopped having children, I would have been so much better. But your life unfolds the way it’s supposed to,’ she said.

Lisa said the pain of losing Jaimi is sometimes so strong that she can’t get out of bed
The seven-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist told Sunrise in May that she hopes her book will help others in a similar situation.
Jaimi is Lisa’s daughter after her marriage to ex-husband Grant Kenny, an Olympic athlete and former Iron Man. She is now married to Elvis impersonator Mark Tabone.
Lisa and Grant married in 1984, separated in 2009, and together they welcomed three children: son Jett, 28, daughter Morgan, 31, and Jaimi.
