Link your PlayStation account to Discord starting today

Announced last May, Sony and Discord Form a partnership to bring the PlayStation and Discord ecosystems together. Today, we’re finally seeing some movement in bringing Discord integration to Sony’s console, or vice versa.

Starting today, you can now link your PlayStation account to your Discord ID. This lets your friends or others on the server know what time and what you’re playing on PS5 or PS4. This service works like any other service, such as Steam, Blizzard, XboxSpotify, etc. The setup is the same.

Here’s how Discord says to connect a PlayStation account:

“To connect your Discord account to your PlayStation Network account, open Discord and go to User Settings > Connections on desktop or web. On mobile, go to User Settings > Connect connect.” From there, you’ll enter the login information for your PlayStation account. Easy. It also notes that you can toggle whether anyone can see your PlayStation status in case you need to hide something for whatever reason.

PlayStation functionality works on any platform Discord is enabled, so give it a try if you’re playing on a Sony console. Unfortunately, there aren’t any updates for broader integration of the two, but this small step is a good start for now.

In other Sony news today, the console maker has raked in a studio giant with the acquisition of Destiny 2 developer Bungie. Read all about Buy big and future of Destiny here.
