Lexus revealed a new, extremely limited ‘Hokkaido Edition’ of LC . sports car. Available exclusively in European markets, only 80 special units will be purchased, split evenly between coupe and convertible body styles.
Named for and inspired by the Japanese volcanic island of Hokkaido, this special edition features a few splashes to help it stand out from the regular versions of the company’s flagship sports car.
Four colors are available, Flaming Red, Sonic Platinum, F White or Graphite. It also has unique 21-inch alloy wheels and an exclusive black front grille. The convertible’s fabric roof can be specified in either red or black.
There is only one interior decoration – the eye-catching asymmetrical two-tone finish. The driver is surrounded by dark rose-red leather that covers the transmission, door trim and surrounds the steering wheel, while the front-seat passenger area has a more subtle black theme.
While the Hokkaido version doesn’t seem to get the fixed start-up wizard seen on last year ‘Black Inspiration’ model, it will benefit from the suspension, software and safety enhancements announced for the LC Update 2022.
Performance promises to be unchanged from the standard car, as engine choices remain the same, with a 354hp 3.5-liter V6 hybrid combined with a CVT . continuously variable transmissionor 471 hp 5.0-liter V8 engine, which drives a conventional automatic transmission.
The LC Hokkaido Edition will go on sale in Europe from April 2022.
