Lil Rel now living by the saying, “feel good and look better.” The comedian recently opened up about this period in his life and the changes he has made over the past five years, including losing weight!
His comments came after he stepped out for a Sony Pictures event on July 21 in Culver City, California. Rel wore a purple Burberry shirt with dark pants and maroon boots. The comedian also wore his signature sunglasses and some icy jewelry to complete his look.

Lil Rel Shares Appreciation for “Working Really Hard” on Himself
After seeing his red carpet photos, Lil Rel took to Instagram with a message reflecting on his growth. In addition to his physical transformation, the comedian highlighted his mental, emotional, and professional changes. He opened up about his post as a way to express self-esteem.
“I have really worked hard over the past five years physically, mentally, spiritually, professionally and personally. I am so proud of myself. This is the best I have felt and looked in my entire life,” he shared.
To be clear, his weight loss, in particular, has been evident over the years. But this is one of the first times Lil Rel has publicly commented on his transformation and what led him to the internal and external state he is in today.
“Honestly. Stopping drinking, eating healthier, exercising almost every day, writing, building a closer relationship with God, therapy, and honest accountability have taken my life to a new level of pure happiness,” the comedian added.
Additionally, Rel encourages people to avoid “shortcuts” and choose to actually “put in the effort” to improve themselves! “Let me be an example of really trying your best,” he shared before promoting his upcoming new film ‘Harold And The Purple Crayon.’
