Lightning took a 3-0 lead in the series against the Panthers after winning game 3

Tampa Bay Lightning is a scan avoidance game Florida Panthers after a 5-1 win in game 3 on Sunday.

Corey Perry soon set the tone with his fifth goal in the playoffs to give the Lightning a 1-0 lead.

While the Panthers’ Sam Reinhart finished the game later in the first period, this was the only time Florida got past Andrei Vasilevskiy. The Lightning equalized with goals from Erik Cernak and Steven Stamkos in the second half.

The last two goals for Tampa Bay were scored by Nikita Kucherov and Stamkos in the final minutes of the third half.

The Lightning are trying to win their third Stanley Cup in a row and have drawn Florida by just one goal in each of the first three games of the series. The Panthers ended the regular season with an NHL best scoring performance of 4.15 per game and the league’s best record.

Game 4 in Tampa Bay is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET on Monday night.
