Lenovo overhauls ThinkPad laptops with a new series of versions
Lenovo took the stage at MWC 2023 to announce the latest generation of some of its ThinkPads laptopas well as the IdeaPad and ThinkCenter products, during this time, eye health is of great importance.
Besides the fairly widespread adoption of low blue light technology designed to reduce eye strain, Lenovo has also made a number of other improvements to display quality and size across the board.
Under the guise of many revised designs, the latest Intel and AMD processors take center stage, accompanied by memory and storage improvements.
New Lenovo Devices 2023
Overall, many devices have seen improvements in memory, with typical figures coming from the ThinkPad Z13 Gen2 and Z16 Gen2 (up to 64GB), the all-new Thinkpad E14 Gen 5 and E16 Gen1 (up to 40GB). Both devices also have up to 2TB of storage: PCIe SSDs for the Z series and dual SSDs for the E series. They are also the latest devices to benefit from Wi-Fi 6E engineered technology. with faster speed and efficiency.
Elsewhere in the ThinkPad lineup, improvements have been made to the display, with blue light technology being adopted across most of the product line. The X13 Gen4 and X13 Yoga Gen4 also feature high-resolution 2.8K OLED displays.
In keeping with its environmental commitments, Lenovo has also provided the Z13 Gen2 with a new, partially recycled aluminum top shell with natural flax plant fibers. A pair of 13-inch and 14-inch laptop cases, including vegan leather and recycled PET, were also released.
Lighter users, such as students, are equally satisfied, with the IdeaPad Duet 3i and the IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook, each receiving Wi-Fi 6 enhancements and useful enhancements to battery life. Furthermore, the Duet 3i claims to be able to add 2 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes with what Lenovo calls Rapid Charge Boost.
Finally, desktop users with 22-inch and 24-inch ThinkCenter Tiny-in-One monitors will also notice a number of improvements in the latest Gen5 models, most notably the addition of DisplayPort and HDMI to connect two more external PCs.
