Lego and Formula 1 launch full teams and drivers
If there’s one thing Lego is famous for—other than its legendary clutch power Immortal plastic bricks—that is the company’s uncanny ability to identify the Next Big Thing and sign it on the spot. a license agreement. After creating sets for the most legendary IPs to ever exist (see: Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean), female The Lego Group partners with Formula 1 in 2024.
Today, the two companies announced new Lego F1 sets launching in celebration of the 75th anniversary of Formula 1. Starting January 1, 2025, Lego fans can collect and build sets for all 10 F1 teams, in products spread across Lego’s entire portfolio. Whether you have a giant Lego City building in your basement or your little one is just starting to build with Duplos, you’ll be able to partake in the Formula 1 experience.
Perhaps most interestingly, the sets will be from the Lego Speed Champions line, which are realistic Lego models of famous sports cars from manufacturers like McLaren and Ferrari. (We saw a much larger version when F1 driver Lando Norris drove a Lego McLaren P1 at Silverstone this September to announce the partnership.)
With the Duplo line of F1 Team Cars and Drivers, young fans can customize their designs to represent any of the 10 F1 teams and not just include two cars and two drivers racing (Max Verstappen is also a fan of children) but also the starting grid, podium and additional items to fulfill their race weekend dreams.
