LeBron James talks about why he’s still hitting the NBA courts after 19 seasons

The first rule to being a goat is that you have to believe that you are a goat! And that doesn’t seem to matter for top NBA (National Basketball Association) player LeBron James. In the premiere of the fifth season of the series Shop, LeBron has openly talked about why he’s still not ready to leave professional basketball.

What Bothers LeBron

The answer to this comes from a portion of a 31-minute episode where LeBron explains how playing doesn’t bother him.

“The only thing that upsets me is when I can’t play because of injury,” he said. “It bothers me when I can’t be on the floor… I never know if it’s like that game or that city, that a kid will come, come see me and I don’t play. in that game. ”

LeBron went on to say that his coaches asked him to “sit down” and “take a break,” but he refused.

What keeps LeBron on the court

At this point, Paul Rivera asks LeBron the reason behind his refusal to slow down.

“Why? I never asked you that. You have MVPs, championships, All-Stars, all the money, all the ads, the movies. You have everything. Why 19 years later you still have that,” Paul asked.

LeBron’s follow-up gets straight to the point: he loves the game and he’s really good, even 19 years later.

“It’s just me man. I like to compete, I like to win. I like, just like, play games. Because, I mean, I know at some point I won’t be able to play it anymore at that level. So sh*t, why not, I’m trying to squeeze as much juice out of this damn orange as I can. While I can. Why not?”

Just a day after the release of the new episode, LeBron scored 56 points in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 124-116 win over the Golden State Warriors. So his continuing point of “and I’m fine” has its own weight.

“If I was out there with some asshole, like the nasty-looking Bron, I’d be dumped. But I’m still cool out there… I feel like every season is like a movie to me. Every season is like a movie. And I feel like I’m living in it. Like, I’m the star in the movie. It feels like sh*t. I’m feeling like Batman.”

Retirement plan

And it looks like fans could still have some years with the superstar player. LeBron is hoping play with his son and high school basketball player Bronny.

“My final year will be playing with my son,” LeBron tell Jason Lloyd about The Athletic. “Wherever Bronny is, that’s where I’ll be. I will do whatever it takes to play with my son for a year. At that point, it was not about money.”
