Over the past few weeks, the hype behind the potential fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has gone viral. Still, Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn says there’s still work to be done and the clock is ticking.
In an interview with Charlie Parsons of Boxing Social, Hearn spoke of contract problems that had been brought in by Frank Warren of Queensbury, but was keen to point out that they were nothing out of the ordinary.
“We signed a contract and there were a lot of problems with that contract, that’s not unusual. We go back, we had a very proactive call yesterday with the boys. Time is of the essence, broadcasters still have to work together, but we’re on track with the wording of that agreement and we’re all hoping to do that.”
“Everybody wants to make the fight, so there are a lot of possibilities for it to happen. It should work for everyone and we don’t make it difficult. It’s a co-promotion and we’re looking for ways to maximize pot revenue for the boxers and no one disputes that.”
