Realme is said to be developing a display notch module on the front that looks similar to the Dynamic Island feature on the iPhone 14 Pro series. Apple was the first to introduce such a functional camera cutout module when it launched the iPhone 14 Pro series last September. Ever since the Cupertino, California-based iPhone maker announced Dynamic Island, the feature has been imitated by many Android smartphone manufacturers. The latest rumors seem to suggest that Realme could be one of the first brands to develop their own products on Apple’s Dynamic Island.
Tipster Steve H. Mcfly (@onleaks) leaked the design of “Realme Mini Capsule” in cooperation with SmartPrix. Myself is said to be working on replicating the Dynamic Island feature found on Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro lineup. The video leaked by the tipper shows how the Mini Capsule could work on an upcoming Realme device.
Images and videos shared by the tipster seem to suggest that Realme’s Mini Capsule will be slightly larger and wider than the Dynamic Island seen on Apple’s iPhone 14 series. However, it will collapse into a much smaller circular hole-punch camera cutout, according to the leaked video.
The new feature that was said to be in development was previously revealed by Madhav Sheth, Vice President of Realme, on Twitter. However, the tweet was later deleted, according to the report.
The latest report goes a step further beyond suggesting the feature’s development and hints at the feature in action on a Realme-branded device. The video shows the function cutout used to show the charging status via animation, and the color seems to change depending on the battery level.
According to the report, the purported Realme Mini Capsule could also provide support for other features beyond expanding to reveal charging information.
Last September, the company show contest ‘realme Island – Creators Challenge’ on its community forum, seeking design ideas for Apple’s version of Dynamic Island on Android phones. Of the company community post was updated in October with the contest winners.
It is important to note that Realme has yet to provide any official confirmation on the development or implementation of the Dynamic Island-like Mini Capsule feature. This feature could eventually provide additional functionality, display notifications and control music playback, similar to Dynamic Island on Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro series of smartphones.
