Leaked photos of Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti GPU give us hope for our energy bill
Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Ti is really close to us, the rumor mill will have us believe, with new visual evidence of this graphics card’s power connector setup, suggesting it won’t eat up any power.
VideoCardz (opens in a new tab) Leaked images of Gigabyte’s RTX 4070 Ti Aero OC show the card from various angles – it’s white, with a triple-fan cooler – and we also get a glimpse of the power adapter . In the case of the 4070 Ti, Nvidia used an 8-pin to 16-pin dual converter (more on that in a moment).
All of this assumes, of course, that these images aren’t faked, but they look authentic enough.
According to previous rumors, the RTX 4070 Ti is expected to feature 7,680 CUDA Cores, with 12GB of GDDR6X VRAM (and we can see the memory configuration on the box in the photos here).
VideoCardz claims that the 4070 Ti is a certification that will be launched at Nvidia’s ‘special address’ at CES 2023 on January 3 and graphics card will be on sale soon – indeed, January 5th is the rumored release date.
Analysis: Strength and price
Given the weight of current rumors and the emergence of photos of an actual third-party RTX 4070 Ti model, that CES launch seems like a certainty (or as certain as any other). something from the rumor mill).
Whether or not it will go on sale soon is something that seems a bit in doubt, but again, it means it will, since this GPU is essentially one (barely) replaced by the RTX 4080 12GB. (That tag is prepended and then ‘not launched’ by NvidiaI’m sure you’ll recall, which means everything is almost ready for this release).
As for the power adapter (required for ATX 2.0 power supplies, which most PCs have) use a 2 x 8 pin configuration, which of course reflects that the 4070 Ti uses less power – according to rumors it is pegged at 285W – vs RTX4080is 3 x 8 pins and the RTX 4090, is 4 x 8 pins.
Fortunately, we haven’t seen any cases of adapter melting with the RTX 4080. Those issues only happen with RTX4090but only in very rare cases like Nvidia has clarified (probably because the connector is not properly plugged into its port).
All that’s left to know about the 4070 Ti is its price point, which will be an important factor, naturally. given how? AMD’s New RX 7900 XTX has made the RTX 4080 even more overpriced than it appeared to be, we expect Nvidia to sell the RTX 4070 Ti at a more reasonable price, as well as drop the price of the 4080 to better compete with the competition. flagship RDNA 3.
Either way, it’s a move that makes sense to us, especially when you also consider that Nvidia has to explain why the 4070 Ti will (presumably) be cheaper than the abandoned 12GB 4080. dropped and the 4080 16GB discount seems to be the obvious way to do so. However, what makes sense and what happens are often two different things in the GPU world…
