Lawmakers step up efforts to advance bills for Visa, Mastercard
Lawmakers support a bill that aims to Passport and Master Card is pushing for credit card routing rules proposed in a sweeping defense spending bill.
Sen. Richard Durbin (D., Ill.) And Senator Roger Marshall (R., Kan.) filed a proposal to amend the Defense Authorization Act on Thursday. Modified mirror legislation introduced by two senators in July that would give merchants the power to route many credit card payments over networks other than Visa and Mastercard.
