Draya Michele replied Laura Govan after she claimed to have had a rocky relationship with the founder of Mint Swim. In one interview with Carlos King, Govan claimed that Draya had sex with her ex, Gilbert Arena. To set the scene, Draya and Laura appeared together on ‘Basketball Wives LA’.

Draya clapped back at Laura Govan
Yes, Chile! Draya Michele has something to say to Laura for raising her. On Wednesday, October 30, Draya appeared on her Instagram Stories and questioned why people keep mentioning her when she’s not bothering anyone. “I’m not bothering anyone. Why doesn’t anyone bother me?” Draya wrote.
Draya Michele went on to explain on her IG Stories that she was fed up with being “cyberbullied.”
“First of all, I’m not the cleaning type, but that’s enough. I was bullied online by both men and women for nearly 12 months straight. And kept quiet. I don’t care about likes, comments or virality. But if I follow the trend, I will be the trend today and all damn day,” Draya wrote.
Michele also clarified her timeline with Gilbert Arenas and called out Laura Govan, insisting that Laura’s accusations were unfounded. “Timelines are not arranged in time. And I apologize to those who cannot understand that,” Draya said.
Draya made it clear that she never texted anyone’s husband, even though Laura accused her of having an affair with Gilbert Arenas. Draya emphasized that no one was married back then and said that she interacted with Gilbert Arenas “many years” before joining ‘Basketball Wives LA.’ The TV star also said she did not know Laura or her sister before the performance, insisting that Laura calling her “friend” during the interview was excessive. Additionally, she pointed out that she came on the show as a friend of Laura Govan’s sister Gloria, but she still didn’t know who Laura was.
When addressing Laura’s comments, Draya clarified that she never goes online to criticize anyone, but she will always share her side of the story.
“I certainly don’t blame the woman in any situation where I have to earn respect from my man. I don’t often go online and tell my story because I respect the fact that it’s just my side. I do many people a favor by being silent and not sharing,” Draya continued.
Draya Michele also implied that if she had any “dirty laundry,” the reality show would air it because her storyline “carried” the show.
“I hope you read this with the tone of a strong woman once again going online to defend herself. And not a victim. I was never a victim. I am the winner. Now, if you’ll allow me. I would go back to my very normal unrealistic multi-faceted life. Thank.”
She also urged people to go out and vote, especially for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Here’s what Laura Govan said about Draya
Laura Govan spilled her tea while chatting with Carlos King on his podcast. She confirmed that she and Gilbert were never married but have four children together after 12 years of marriage. Govan told Carlos that she knew Draya and Gilbert were dating but didn’t realize Draya was his “leaper” on ‘Basketball Wives LA.’
Eventually, she discovered that Gilbert had allegedly given Draya $25,000 and brought her to Los Angeles. Govan then recalls how she confronted Draya while she was filming the show after discovering papers from Gilbert, leading to an altercation between them. She also revealed that the incident was not aired on ‘Basketball Wives LA’ because they reportedly did not want it to be aired.
“I remember I wasn’t planning on filming and I walked past everyone and beat her up. And it wasn’t broadcast. They don’t want that atmosphere. I have defeated Draya. I think I grabbed her ass and collarbone and threw her away. And then I spit on her,” Laura said.
Laura explained that she felt betrayed because they were friends and Draya had helped her on social media. She then expressed that she believed she had to confront her because Draya knew about her relationship with Gilbert but still pursued him.
