Police in Las Vegas visited the home of a county official Wednesday as they continue to investigate the stabbing Las Vegas Review Magazine reporter Jeff German, the newspaper said.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed only in a statement to NPR that it is executing a search warrant regarding the weekend murder on 7200 blocks of the Bronze Circle.
But Review Magazine reported that law enforcement officers and police cars were discovered outside the home of Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles Wednesday morning, and that a portion around the house had been cut off.

Telles has denied the allegations and targeted Germans on social media. In a tweetTelles called one of the stories about his office “a smear work” and said he thought Duc was “crazy that I hadn’t come down to the pit and died.”

Police have not identified Telles as a suspect in German’s death or revealed any motive for the killing.
Carlos Martinez de la Serna, program director of the Committee to Protect Journalists, said it was imperative that authorities find out what happened to the Germans.
“Police must conduct a prompt and transparent investigation into this murder and determine the motive,” he said. said in a statement. “Whoever killed the German should be held accountable.”
The newspaper says Germany has reported on crime and corruption among Las Vegas state officials, casino executives and crowds during its 40-year journalism career in the resort city. .
Review Magazine Executive editor Glenn Cook said German had never told the newspaper management of any concerns about his safety and added that the paper was devastated by his death.
“He’s the gold standard of the news business,” Cook said. “It’s hard to imagine what Las Vegas would be like without his years of shining light on dark places.”
