Lambda Rho Beta golf tourney finally pushes through
MANILA, Philippines — Traditionally, Lambda Rho Beta Fraternity, of the University of San Beda, hosts golf tournaments quarterly, but the pandemic has limited movement and caused the fraternity to postpone some of these events.
Finally, last June 26, the traditional tournament was held at Sherwood Hills Golf Club after the COVID-19 regulations were relaxed by the government.
The event was named “Batch Parañaque Uno Cup 99” after the organizers. Brothers and sisters attended in large numbers.
Perfect weather for tee time. Organizers also ensured that the COVID guidelines set forth by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) were followed.
But these did not dampen the enthusiasm of the participants, they turned the fundraising event into a fun and competitive game of golf.
Attorney Herbert DG Matienzo, representing Rhoan and the event host, said: “A gathering like this offers a number of opportunities to raise funds, but beyond financial sponsorship, we rely heavily on personal relationships and solidarity”.
Proceeds from the tournament will go to the fund of the fraternity for lawyers, or members of the fraternity participating in the Bar, and its scholarship program.
