The tense relationship between Brooklyn Nets superstar point guard Kyrie Irving and Boston Celtics fan is well documented. Since leaving “Beantown” after the 2018-2019 campaign, the enmity between the majority of Celtics fans and the seven-time All-Star seems to only grow with each passing year.
Still, hostilities were perhaps at an all-time high during Boston’s first-round playoffs and Brooklyn’s Eastern Conference on Sunday. While that doesn’t seem to have affected Irving’s play on the field (as he finished the game with a top 39), the Celtics could still come off thrilling, win beat buzzer.
“Uncle Drew” admitted to being disappointed watching the competition and speaking in front of rabid fans, as well as his reaction to the crowd.
