Kyiv will receive the first sets of PzH 2000 in June

Ukraine’s ambassador to Berlin said on Friday that Kyiv will receive the first batch of PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers (Panzerhaubitze) in June.

“7 self-propelled artillery vehicles [PzH 2000] will be handed over to us – we will receive these systems on June 22; and self-propelled air defense systems, the so-called Gepard,” Andriy Melnyk told Ukrainian media agency.

The ambassador noted that, despite the promises, Germany has yet to deliver a single unit of heavy weapons to Ukraine.

“As of today, on the 105th day of Russia’s war against Ukraine, no, I repeat, there are no units of heavy equipment – at least artillery, artillery, infantry fighting vehicles, tanks – no units were delivered to Ukraine”.

German Federal Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht in May confirmed that Germany will provide the PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzer against Russian troops in Ukraine.

Germany will deliver seven PzH 2000s to Ukraine. Christine Lambrecht reached an agreement on this during her visit to Sliac in Slovakia.

The PzH 2000 is a 52-caliber 155mm self-propelled howitzer (L52) designed to provide indirect fire support for rapid reaction forces and artillery regiments. It is compatible with all 155 NATO standard ammunition and ammunition, and has a high rate of fire with outstanding accuracy.
