According to actor Kumail Nanjiani, 2021’s The Eternals may have seen Kingo and Eros meet in a post-credits scene. In an appearance on Happy Sad Confused podcastas chosen by Weekly entertainmentNanjiani revealed that he filmed “a very different kind of post-credits scene” for Eternals where his character would have appeared on screen alongside Harry Styles.
While Nanjiani is wary of giving too much detail, he explains that the two characters don’t really interact with each other. “We don’t really talk. We just look at each other from afar,” explained Nanjiani, before adding: “I really don’t know what I’m allowed to say.”
The scene between credits it finally appeared on our screens featuring Harry Styles as Eros, but without Nanjiani, as his character Kingo was kidnapped in an earlier scene. Nanjiani also talked about the experience of working with Styles on the film, even if they didn’t end up filming a scene together.
“I started hearing rumors about it here and there and I thought it was bullshit,” he said. “I was like, ‘The guy from One Direction? No way.’ And then one day you show up to work and a beautiful Harry Styles shows up. ‘Hey, man!’ And I was like, ‘Hey? What are you doing here?'”
When asked about his future with The Eternals and his character Kingo, Nanjiani wasn’t sure if he’d be asked to reprise the role.
“I really don’t know if my character will come back,” he said. “I’d love to go back and do it, but I really, really, really don’t know. Too bad. I’d love to go back and do it again!”
