Yamaha recently launched an updated line of their motorcycles. The R15M is currently the most expensive motorcycle Yamaha currently sells and one of the most popular motorcycles in the manufacturer’s lineup. One of the indirect competitors of the Yamaha R15M is the KTM RC 125, which competes directly on price. Here is a comparison between both motorcycles.

In terms of appearance, both motorcycles look like the younger cousins of their cousins. The R15M is inspired by the design of the R6 while the RC 125 looks like a miniature version of the RC 390.

Regarding the engine, RC 125 is equipped with a single cylinder engine, liquid-cooled, with a capacity of 124.9 cc. It produces 14.3 hp at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. It is combined with a 6-speed gearbox.

R15M is equipped with a 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine with VVA technology. It produces 18.14 hp at 10,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.2 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox with a quick shifter.

Yamaha R15M is equipped with a TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, Traction Control, LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. There are also two driving modes on offer, Street and Track modes. On the other hand, the RC 125 is equipped with an LCD instrument cluster, LED taillights and halogen headlights.
