Larry Kosilla’s Ammo NYC car detail shop has seen a variety of vehicles, but this time it plays host to something really rare: Koenigsegg CC850.
Kosilla produced lots of videos about auto detailing and this time he applied his skills to the CC850 on display at Monterey Car Week 2022. It’s en route from California to a client presentation in New York’s posh Hamptons, so make a quick stop at Kosilla’s for a shower.

CC850 doesn’t need as much attention some other cars passed the store, but Kosilla thoroughly washed and glazed Reflex Pro, making it harder for dirt to adhere to the paint.
Speaking of paint, the CC850’s 25-stage coat maxes out Kosilla’s paint depth gauge. Areas with thinner coatings need to be treated more delicately, but that’s not the point here. Koenigsegg is no stranger to elaborate paint jobs; Jesko car show on display at Geneva motor show 2019 paint has 34 layers.
The CC850 is a re-imagining of Koenigsegg’s first production car — the CC8S. Style borrows heavily from that hypercar, but the CC850 is powered by Koenigsegg’s current 5.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 tuned to deliver 1,169 hp with conventional air injection or 1,366 hp with fuel. whether E85. The V-8 is paired with a new version of Koenigsegg’s Light Speed Powertrain that can switch between a nine-speed automatic and a six-speed automatic. 6-speed manual mode– complete with clutch pedal.
Koenigsegg originally planned for 50 build sites but they sold out in record time after the CC850 launched in Monterey, which meant some of the company’s loyal customers missed out. Fast car manufacturers increase production, add 20 construction positions. But even if that won’t satisfy demand for the car, CEO Christian von Koenigsegg predicts, will maintain the CC850’s air of exclusivity.
