KL Rahul Has “Stable And Balanced Head, Wish I Had That”: Gautam Gambhir
India opens KL Rahul received a lot of criticism from fans and former cricketers for his successive failed performances. The 30-year-old cricketer let everyone down with his failed display in the first two Tests against Australia, which even cost him his place as vice-captain in the other two Tests . With the series against Australia coming to an end on March 22, Rahul will be gearing up for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League where he will lead the Lucknow Super Giants.
The Lucknow-based franchise unveiled their new jerseys for the upcoming season on Tuesday, where the team’s mentor and former Indian player Gautam Gambhir praised Rahul and called him the captain with a “proportionate head”.
“It all starts with the captain. The captain is the flag bearer of the team. It’s the captain’s team. All of us in the dressing room are there to support him. No support staff suffers much. pressure like captain. It’s the captain’s body language that determines how we perform.” Gambhir said during the shirt launch.
“We are very lucky to have someone like KL Rahul, who has a very stable and balanced head. I wish I had it, I didn’t have it. I was extreme, but it did. works for me. For a brand like Lucknow, it’s important to have someone like KL at the helm. Going forward, this will be a big positive for us,” he added.
As far as IPL goes, Rahul has a formidable track record with the stick. In 109 T20 games, the opening hitter scored 3889 runs an average of 48.01 and a hit rate of 136.22.
Speaking of IPL, the 16th season of the cash-rich league kicks off March 31 with the first match between the defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad.
Lucknow Super Giants will face Delhi Capitals in their first match on April 1 at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
