Kinross continues training with ’23 BC Mile’ goal


Marc Chan’s Kinross is to continue training at the age of 6 in 2023 with the main aim of getting another crack at the Fanduel Breeders’ Cup Mile presented by PDJF (G1T), in which he was the third fastest finisher. Modern game in Keeneland November 5th.

Ralph Beckett’s versatile performance has been on four straight wins, including two at group 1 level, when beaten 3/4 length and nose at the weekend, when he had to get through a draw wide in booth 12.

“He ran a great race and put in a lot of effort — I’m really excited for him,” Beckett said. “It was the draw that beat us really, and the lack of pace in the race didn’t help. He ran really well in the situations.”

Even when he failed, Kinross showed versatility on his trip, having previously scored more than six pitches in the British Championship Sprint (G1) in Ascot and more than seven dribbles in the Prix de la Foret (G1) at ParisLongchamp on Arc Day.

Kinross, who, along with other European athletes was on his way back from Kentucky on Monday, is unlikely to return to the plane next month even though he is admitted to the Hong Kong Mile (G1) at Sha Believe.

Beckett added: “He has been to Hong Kong but is unlikely to go, and the plan is to keep him in training next year when his main target will be another crack at Breeders’ Cup Mile in Santa Anita .”
