The heat was on at G1 on Saturday, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco S. in Ascot and there was no such refuge Pyledriver (GB) (Harbour Watch {Ire}) mercilessly took advantage of the stables of William Muir and Chris Grassick and racehorse PJ McDonald. Defeated 18-1 by a split second in the G1 Cup on June 3 last time to ignite enthusiasm, last year’s Epsom winner was always in his comfort zone. Westover (GB) (Frankel {GB}) and Broome (Ire) (Australia {GB}) and when sent through the two poles are clearly stretched to achieve an impressive 2 3/4 length from Torquator Tasso (Ger) (Adlerflug {Ger}). Mishriff (Ire) (Believe {GB}) finished third in eight races, while the 3-year-old couple, Westover, who was eliminated from the favorites 13-8, and Emily Upjohn (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}), proved to be a huge disappointment when the pair finally went home.
